On 14th June 2024, council representatives attended a musical evening reception hosted by the High Commission of New Zealand. The event celebrated the rising of Matariki, the Māori New Year, and extended best wishes to Sri Lanka’s renowned choir ensemble, Soul Sounds, ahead of their participation in the World Choir Games 2024 in New Zealand. The evening fostered cultural appreciation and goodwill between the two nations.
